Political dialogue between the opposition Armenian National Congress
(ANC) and authorities rendered a revolution in Armenia impossible,
according to a former ANC member.
As Online Liberals Alliance initiative coordinator Karapet Rubinyan
told a news conference in Yerevan, the change of power would have been
possible if ANC, the most influential oppositional force, gathered
the other oppositional forces and supporters into a single unit to
organize wide-scale demonstrations.
According to Rubinyan, ANC failed to take its only chance at organizing
a revolution, which offered in early 2011, when riots in Arab states,
serious internal situation in Armenia, inconsistence of current
authorities might act as catalysts.
As Rubinyan noted, nothing is left to expect but regular parliamentary
relations, controlled by Serzh Sargsyan.
