ARMENIAN CHURCH IN ISTANBUL WILL SERVE AS CULTURE CENTER

"This is a peace project," Gevorg Ozkaragioz, the project manager for
the restoration project of Armenian St. Vordvots Vorotman Church said.
Turkish "Taraf" quotes the project manager as saying that the
restoration of the church will soon be finished and that on 15 June
the church will be opened to serve as culture center.
St. Mariam Astvatsatsin (Virgin Mary) church foundation and "Istanbul
2010" agency have financed one and half million dollar project of
restoration.
The church was founded in 1828 during Ottoman era.
