Armenian Internet-provider, Fibernet Communication company commented
on the recent cut of access internet in Armenia.
"As a response to the information circulated by some media over the
past 2 days, regarding cutting the cable rented by Fibernet company
from South Caucasus Railways, we would like to inform that on May 20,
Friday, at about 3pm, the connection between our company's network and
all international Internet providing nets was completely terminated."
"Representatives of both Fibernet and South Caucasus Railways arrived
at site to find the damaged section of the cable, photos of which
are available," the company said.
"We are inclined to suppose that tubes and cable were cut with a
sawing tool. Due to operative and coordinated measures taken by
Fabernet and South Caucasus Railways, the damaged section of the
cable was restored within shortest terms.
The company doesn't suppose it was a deliberate damage by rivals.
"We'd like to mention that in spite of a quite serious competition at
the market we manage to maintain the athmosphere of healthy relantions
with our competitors," it said.
