The head of Javakhk Union gave positive assessment to ICG report
titled Georgia: The Javakheti Region's Integration Challenges.

According to Shirak Torosyan the report contains sound views. "The
report provides objective criticism of the Georgian authorities'
policy towards Javakhk Armenians. It notes Armenian population's
discontent over the absence of the status of the Armenian language,
social and economic issues, urging to take efforts to solve the
    situation," Torosyan said.

At the same time, Torosyan indicated a number of omissions in the
report, which never mentioned mass arrests and political persecutions
    of the region's activists.

Torosyan characterised ICG report as a success of Armenian side which
activated efforts at the international arena.

"A clear progress has been observed in the positions of international
organizations, which address the situation in Javakhk and Armenians'
    problems more often," he said.
