"Azerbaijan should demonstrate the international community that it
is an open country in terms of national and religious tolerance.
It is impossible to say the same about Armenia. Social situation
is tense in Armenia. It is impossible to say there is religious
tolerance," head of Belgium-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship
group Philippe Blanchard told journalists, APA reports. He said
Azerbaijan should launch wide campaign concerning the resolution of
Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
Speaking about the relations between Azerbaijani and Belgian
parliaments Philippe Blanchard noted that the friendship group plans
to meet in September. The ways of interparliamentary cooperation
will be discussed, the parliamentarians will share their experience
during the meeting. Philippe Blanchard said it had not been decided
where the meeting would be held.
"The Azerbaijani parliamentarians have enough information about
Belgium. One can not say the same about the Belgians. We want the
Belgian parliamentarians to pay visits to Azerbaijan and get acquainted
with the development of Azerbaijan," he said.
