OMBUDSMAN TO LAUNCH HOTLINE SERVICE

Armenia's human rights defender, in collaboration with nine
non-governmental organizations, is re-opening his rapid response
service.
To enhance the efficiency of the Ombudsman's Office work, it is
planned launch a free hotline on November 1. Citizens facing abuse
by law enforcement agencies (Police, Prosecutor's Office, Special
Investigative Service, National Security) will be able to contact
the service by dialing 166.
The Ombudsman's Office will offer counseling services; upon necessity,
it will also make site (institution) visits and verify or transfer
information to a competent body.
