The Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaksutyun (ARF-D) in Lebanon
has called on the local Kurds to quit several districts of capital
Beirut, a Kurdish activist has said.
Mahmoud Sival, a representative of a Lebanon based Kurdish
organization, has told the local newspaper Al Mustakbal that the
Armenians have urged the Kurdish population to quit the Armenian
populated districts of the city.
"The say the Kurds have escalated tension in Beirut by attending
mass rallies in Syria. But the Armenians insist they use drugs and
constantly violate the laws," he said.
The local news outlets have quoted Hakob Bagratuni, a member of
the Lebanese parliament, as saying that such decision was made for
security considerations and is not politically motivated.
