ANC-Grassroots is on Thanksgiving weekend
GLENDALE - A generous anonymous donation from a community activist
will enable and ensure broad participation in the ANC Grassroots on
Thanksgiving Weekend, November 25-27, announced the Armenian National
Committee-Western Region Board of Directors.
The ANC-WR has decided to significantly lower the registration fee
from $150 ($100 for students with valid ID) to $49 ($39 for students)
to ensure that finances would not deter interested individuals from
participating in ANC Grassroots.
"After seeing the scope and importance of ANC Grassroots and the
incredible tools that it would provide its participants, I wanted to
make sure that the program would enjoy the broadest participation
possible," said the generous donor, who wanted to remain anonymous
in a letter to the ANC-WR.
ANC Grassroots will take place on Thanksgiving Weekend beginning on
Friday November 25 and conclude on Sunday, November 27. It brings
together some of the foremost experts in law, policy, politics, the
arts and philanthropy to address some of the more pressing issues of
advocacy and to provide the necessary tools for activists to become
involved using the many avenues available to them, which they will
learn about during ANC Grassroots.
"We are extremely grateful to our donor whose generous contribution
will allow more people to participate in our groundbreaking ANC
Grassroots weekend. Our community is fortunate to have individuals who
recognize the importance of activism and are enabling us to make this a
more successful event," said ANC-WR Executive Director, Lara Garibian.
