US HOPES THAT TURKEY WILL ADOPT A POLICY OF REDUCING TENSIONS WITH ITS NEIGHBORS

The US hopes that the Turkish Parliament will formally ratify protocols
on normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia during the
current session, said the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at
a conference of the US-Turkish Council, News-Armenia reports.
Clinton said Turkey could become an influential country in the region,
if it adopts a policy of reducing tensions with its neighbors. At
the same time, the US Secretary of State stressed the importance of
establishing a dialogue with Turkey, Greece and Cyprus, and expressed
concern about the sharp deterioration of relations with Israel.
At the end of her speech, Clinton called Turkey a reliable partner
of the United States and expressed her gratitude for many years of
close relations.
