"WOMAN" INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL - IN YEREVAN

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 1, ARMENPRESS: December 1-5 at Yerevan Hovhannes
Tumanyan Puppet Theater, "Woman" eighth international film festival
will be held. Liza Foundation is the organizer of the festival.
Director of the Liza Foundation Mariam Ohanyan told Armenpress
that more than 40 films from 17 countries will be presented at the
festival. The directors of the films are women. "This film festival,
which has already become traditional, has a goal to revalue the place
and role of woman in society, to cover her issues through cinema,
to promote the films screened in Armenia by women, revelation of
new names, as well as mutual comprehension of cultures of different
nations," Mariam Ohanyan said.
She also noted that at the end of the festival awards will be handed
in the nominations of "The Best Film", "Special Award" and "The
Best Debut".
Master classes and trainings for Armenian women film directors will
be conducted within the framework of the festival. Armenian Ministry
of Culture is the sponsor of the festival.
