Deputy of German Bundestag, member of the Social-Democratic Party
Stefan-Claudio Lem demands from the Azerbaijani Trend news agency
reject the falsified article connected with his comment over the
Armenian Genocide. Citing Nouvelles d'Armenie Armenpress writes
that the Azerbaijani media on behalf of the German parliamentarian
rejected the Armenian Genocide committed in the Ottoman Turkey. The
parliamentarian demanded making clarifications in the article.
"I have not rejected the fact of genocide. In my opinion, the genocide
committed by the Ottoman Empire is a historic fact. Turkey, as the
successor of the Ottoman Empire, should bear the responsibility. As
member of the Social-Democratic Party which is engaged in the works
of fighting against racism in Germany and Europe, I cannot allow the
publication of these false observations," the German parliamentarian
said. He said those responsible for the article violated every
journalistic norm. "I again call on the journalist to publish the
corrected variant of the article," he said.
