ARMENIA'S STATE REVENUE COMMITTEE DENIES ALLEGATION ABOUT ITS CHAIRMAN'S RESIGNATION
ARKA

YEREVAN, November 2. /ARKA/. Armenia's State Revenue Committee
issued a statement Wednesday denying rumors about its chairman,
Gagik Khachatryan's resignation.
"Some media outlets are disseminating an allegation that Gagik
Khachatryan, the head of the committee, has resigned," the committee
said in its statement. "We find it necessary to state that nothing
like that has happened and these reports have nothing in common with
the reality."
The committee says that the system operates properly and such rumors
are being disseminated to affect the committee's activity and derail
reforms.
A day earlier, Armen Arzumanyan, the Armenian president's spokesman,
denied this allegation as well.
In recent days, some changes in personnel were made in Armenia.
Hovik Abrahamyan, National Assembly speaker, resigned yesterday. He
will lead Armenian Republicans' election campaign for the 2012
parliamentary elections.
On Tuesday, President Serzh Sargsyan dismissed the Police Chief Alik
Sargsyan appointing Deputy Defence Minister Vladimir Gasparyan to
his position.
On Friday, Yerevan Mayor Karen Karapetyan left the office. The ruling
Republican Party of Armenia nominated Taron Margaryan, son of former
prime minister, Andranik Margaryan, who died in 2007, as candidate
for Yerevan mayorship.
