A joint declaration has been adopted today with the results of 12th
sitting of the RA-EU Parliamentary Cooperation Committee, Armenian
co-chair of the committee, chairperson of the NA's European Integration
Affairs Standing Committee Naira Zohrabyan said.
She reminded that the EU cooperates with Azerbaijan in the same
format but for already several times the EU-Azerbaijan Parliamentary
Cooperation Committee fails to come to a common consent and declaration
is not being adopted.
"In the declaration we have registered that the EU supports the OSCE
Minsk group in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement process," Naira
Zohrabyan said. She also stressed that the parties have registered
that the process of normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations
cannot be linked to the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict,
to which Turkey always strives for.
Expressing gratitude for the warm reception the European co-chair of
the RA-EU Parliamentary Cooperation Committee Milan Cabrnoch highly
appreciated the constructive atmosphere in which the works of the
sitting passed. "Our meetings passed in open and constructive working
atmosphere, and we have reached progress in bilateral relations,"
he said.
Milan Cabrnoch underscored the significance of Eastern Partnership in
respect of cooperation of the EU with the 6 partner states. He also
attached importance to the activity of the Parliamentary Assembly of
Eastern Partnership - "Euronest". The sitting of the latter's social
affairs and culture committee will be convened in Yerevan in February.
