Azerbaijan has sent a note of protest to Egypt.
Azerbaijani embassy in Egypt identified that 'Mobini' mobile operator
company of the Arab Republic of Egypt was cooperating with 'Karabakh
Telecom' company which was illegally functioning in Azerbaijan's
occupied territories in the roaming sphere.
Press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the note
of protest was filed by the Azerbaijani embassy in Cairo to Egypt's
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as Ministry of Communication
and Information Technologies, the meetings were held with officials
of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, noting the cooperation of
'Mobinil' mobile operator company with 'Karabakh Telecom' company,
its contradiction to the principles of the international law and
leading documents of the International Telecommunication Union,
it was asked to stop this cooperation.
Due to the measures taken by the government of Egypt in accordance
with the appeal of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the cooperation between
'Mobinil' and 'Karabakh' Telecom was stopped.
Earlier, another mobile operator of Egypt 'Vodafone Egypt' was found to
have cooperation with 'Karabakh Telecom', as a result of the measures
taken by the embassy that cooperation was also stopped.
