MIKAEL MINASYAN RESIGNS TO RUN ELECTION CAMPAIGN

    PanARMENIAN.Net
    November 3, 2011 - 21:26 AMT

PanARMENIAN.Net - The former deputy chief of presidential staff Mikael
Minasyan explained his resignation by an intention to take a post
at election headquarters of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia
(RPA), which, he said, is a priority task in current reality.

According to Minasyan, resent resignations of high-ranking officials
and careful choice of members of the election headquarters are part of
President Sargsyan's strategy on the way to holding the best elections
in the history of independent Armenia.

Commenting on the possibility for recent series of resignations to
come to an end, Minasyan named Armenian President as the only source
of information on the issue, Armenian media reported.

On November 3, by the decree of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan,
the first deputy chief of presidential staff Mikael Minasyan was
    relieved of his post.

As reported on November 1, Armenian parliament speaker Hovik Abrahamyan
will resign his position to head RPA electoral headquarters. As
Abrahamyan told journalists after RPA council sitting, after the
Party's suggesting him to head electoral headquarters, he resolved
to give up the speaker's post to more effectively conduct the
campaign. Abrahamyan will officially resign his post at November 14
    parliamentary sitting.

On November 1, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan signed a decree to
relieve Armenian Police Chief, lieutenant general Alik Sargsyan of
his duties and to appoint him as a presidential advisor. By another
decree, lieutenant general Vladimir Gasparyan was dismissed as the
Deputy Defense Minister and appointed to the post of Armenian Police
Chief at the government of Armenia.
