ARMENIANS DISCONTENT WITH KOTLER'S LECTURES IN YEREVAN

    Tert.am
    04.11.11

The visit of the founder of marketing Pillipe Kotler to Armenia from
November 13-17 and the planned lectures have sparked discontent among
Armenians over its benefits and attendance fees.

Students are discontent the most as the tickets start from 25,000
(approx. $67) drams to 450,000 drams (approx. $1.115).

Around 85% of the tickets have already been sold.

Speaking about complaints, Aram Navasardyan, President of the Armenian
Marketing Association, said that they can do nothing about it.

"We cannot tell Mr Kotler that the economy of our country has grown
3-4% and to deliver a free lecture in our country," said he.

Asked about the total cost of Kotler's visit to Armenia, Navasardyan
    refused to answer.

"I have no right to speak about the price of the contract, but all
the expenses are paid by the Armenian Marketing Association," said he,
adding that the aim of the lectures is to develop marketing in Armenia.

Narek Ghukasyan, a lecturer at the Armenian State University of
Economics said Kotler's visit will not contribute to the development
    of marketing in Armenia.

Speaking to Tert.am Ghukasyan also said that the visit looks like a
show, much in the same way when singer Joe Coker visits Armenia and
    has a concert.

"But regarding how this visit can contribute to the development of
science, I think in no way," said he, adding that a one-day lecture
will give nothing to students given they learn the subject in 80
