AMBASSADOR KIRAKOSYAN MEETS UNDOC AND CTBTO EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS

On November 4 Armenia~Rs Permanent Representative at the International
organizations in Vienna, Ambassador Arman Kirakosyan had a meeting
with Yuri Fedorov, Executive Director an UNDOC (UN Office against
Drugs and Crime) to hand him the letter of appointment from Armenian
Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian.
Greeting the Armenian Ambassador, the Executive Director presented
the objectives of the UN Office against Drugs and Crime, referred to
the problems of the South Caucasus and the perspectives of cooperation
on regional and bilateral levels.
Arman Kirakosyan presented the programs the Armenian government
implements to fight against drugs and crime and expressed willingness
to continue developing the cooperation with the organization.
The parties discussed the possible directions of cooperation in
fighting drugs, corruption and human trafficking.
Arman Kirakosyan met also with Tibor Tóth, Executive Secretary of the
Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty
Organization (CTBTO).
Tibor Tóth appreciated the signing and ratification of the
Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty by Armenia. He also presented
the activity and goals of the organization.
During the meeting the parties discussed issues of reciprocal interest.
