Miss Eurasia crown goes to Armenian participant

An Armenian representative has appeared at the forefront of the Miss
Eurasia 2011 international contest.
Stella Kirakosyan was awarded the winner's crown in the Russian town
of Blagovchensk (Amur region) on Saturday. The event had brought
together participants from six post-Soviet countries, including
Armenia, Russia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Uzbekistan and Moldova.
According to the Russian media, it was the first ever beauty contest
in the Far East.
To win the Miss Eurasia title the participants were required to pass
several tests, including the traditional gait, a video performance and
a "talent contest". The young ladies were to answer answere the jury's
questions, represent their national costumes etc.
The Azerbaijani representative, Sabina Gianova , won the second place;
Uzbekistan's Shahnoza Motaeva was the third.
"When I was offered to participate in the contest I thought 'why not?'
I had the experience of attending such events, but I was doubtful
anyway," the Armenian participant said, thanking her relatives and the
Armenian community for trusting her to represent the Armenian ladies
at the contest.
