ARMENIA SECURES ANOTHER VICTORY IN EUROPEAN TEAM CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP

The team representing Armenia at the 18th European Team Chess
Championship held in Porto Carras, Greece, from Nov. 3-11, secured its
second victory on Monday. Levon Aronian, Sergei Movsesian, Vladimir
Akopian and Gabriel Sargissian beat the team from Denmark, 3.5-0.5,
in Round 5 of the open tournament. The only member of Armenia's team
whose match ended in a draw was Sergei Movsesian, while the rest of
team won their matches, 1-0.
Armenia now has 7 points, moving up from 13th place to 6th in the
standings. Currently in first place is Bulgaria with 9 points, followed
by Romania, Azerbaijan, France and Greece - all with 8 points each.
