IRANIAN MINISTER SAYS ARMENIA GEOGRAPHICALLY SMALL BUT HAS BIG STATUS AND INFLUENCE

There is a need for Iran and Armenia to conduct consultations over
regional and international issue, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar
Salehi told at a joint news conference with his Armenian counterpart
Edward Nalbandian.
"Without exaggeration I can say that our viewpoints over a number of
issues are very close," he stressed.
According to him, in the international arena Armenia has corresponding
status. "May be in geographical respect Armenia seems small but it
has a big status and impact," the Iranian minister said.
Ali Akbar Salehi said many Armenians are living in more than 100
countries and are Armenia's ambassadors to these countries.
"Taking into consideration that Armenians in different countries are
considered hard-working and honest people, they always have good
image in the public it promotes increase of Armenia's role in the
international arena," he said.
The minister said this impact must be used for the establishment of
stability and peace in the region.
