ARMENIA SMALL STATE WITH GREAT INFLUENCE - IRANIAN FM

Armenia and Iran have very similar approaches to regional and
international problems, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi
told a press conference in Yerevan, Nov. 8, following his meeting
with his Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandian.
Similar approaches may facilitate each nation's role in dealing with
the current problems, he added.
Minister Ali Akbar Salehi pointed out Armenia's original status in
the world.
Although a small state, Armenia has great influence in the world
due to the Armenian communities in more than 100 countries. They are
Armenia's ambassadors throughout the world and contribute to Armenia's
influence in the international arena, the Iranian FM said. He hopes
this influence will facilitate the solution to regional problems and
establishment of peace and stability.
Iran is a great state and has 15 neighbors. It is among the few states
that have so many neighbors. Therefore, building up good relations
with neighbors requires political vigilance.
Peace with the neighboring countries contributes to Iran's security
and stability. All the problems can be examined and the sides can
find solutions to them, Minister Ali Akbar Salehi.
Iran is making efforts toward regional peace and stability. The
governments must create conditions for the nations' peaceful
co-existence, he said.
