The former Armenian residents of Azerbaijan and Nakhichevan are going
to have a new town in an Armenian-liberated region on Azerbaijan's
territory.
At the third conference of the Azerbaijani-Armenians they said about
20,000 families are expected to settle in the town to be built in
Zangelan.
Architect Anahit Tarkhanyan who has drawn up the town's preliminary
map, says she has taken into consideration its location while making
the plan.
"Located 400m above the sea and surrounded by subtle hillocks, it
has amphitheatrical solutions," she said.
The town is expected to be in a free economic zone, offering 20,000
new jobs.
The Azerbaijani-Armenians have also decided to set up an organization
protecting their interest. The move is seen as an attempt to gather
together instead of being scattered around the world.
