Azerbaijani Embassy in Germany closely investigates reports of Bako
Sahakyan's visit to Bundestag.
A few days ago the Armenian media gave an intriguing, with undisguised
sensation, the message about the visit of the leader of the Armenian
separatists of Nagorno-Karabakh Bako Sahakyan at the German legislature
and his meeting with "a group of MPs and experts."
The authors have assured the Armenian society that the sides allegedly
discussed at the meeting "bilateral relations" and resolution of the
Karabakh conflict.
Immediately after the appearance of this suspicious message in
the media the Azerbaijani embassy in Germany decided to verify the
validity of the facts. Preliminary results from the investigation
appear to be very interesting, and the rest of the results will be
provided to the public in the upcoming days.
The fact is that Bako Sahakyan never met with "a group of experts and
deputies". The imposter was accompanied only by two accomplices. They
only had the opportunity to meet with one deputy and two of his
assistants. The entire format of the meeting to have a "historic"
significance where they had the chance to discuss "bilateral"
relationships is just another Armenian propaganda.
Simultaneously, the Azerbaijani Embassy immediately sent a note to
the Foreign Ministry of Germany, as well as a request to Bundestag. A
formal written response will be provided in regards to the telephone
conversation held on Thursday between the Azerbaijani Embassy and
the deputy. In the upcoming days the written report on the phone
conversation will be provided to the general public as well.
The position of the Federal Government of Germany remains changless-it
does not recognize the so-called 'Nagorno-Karabakh Republic and has
no official contacts with the regime representatives. The statement
came from spokeswoman for the German embassy to Azerbaijan Aytakin
Maharramova.
As for the visit of the leader of Karabakh separatists Bako Saakyan
to Germany and his meetings in Bundestag, Maharramova said that the
Bundestag deputies are free in meeting people at their discretion
