PanARMENIAN.Net - Arrival of two British ambassadors to Armenia will
have exceptionally positive impact on the development of bilateral
relations, the current UK Ambassador to Armenia said.
According to Charles Lonsdale, the practice of appointing a married
couple to ambassadorial post is accepted in British Foreign Office
with an aim not to separate couples due to work.
Mr Jonathan James Aves and Ms Katherine Jane Leach, a husband and
wife team, were appointed Her Majesty's Joint Ambassadors to the
Republic of Armenia in succession to Mr Charles John Lonsdale, who
will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment.
Some claim that appointment of two ambassadors testifies to unserious
approach towards the given country.
