The Zhoghovurd Newspaper writes that Hovik Abrahamyan who will take
on the position of the head of election staff of the Republican Party
was also the head of the so-called March 1 staff which was deployed
in the government building where then prime minister Serzh Sargsyan's
office was situated.
The Armenian press reported the existence of March 1 staff about
three years ago. But for the first time Hovik Abrahamyan is reported
to have led it.
Earlier, Robert Kocharyan was said to head the staff which was said
to be situated in the president's office.
The newspaper recalls that Hovik Abrahamyan was the head of Serzh
Sargsyan's election staff in 2008, adding that the election resulted
in downtown shooting in Yerevan.
