Turkey will buy three of the Super Cobra Helicopters

WASHINGTON (Bloomberg)-Turkey will purchase three Super Cobra
military helicopters from the U.S. in a deal worth $111 million,
    the Star newspaper reported.

The attack helicopters manufactured by Helicopter Textron Inc. will
be used to combat the Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK, starting as
soon as June, according to the Istanbul-based newspaper.

The U.S. Congress approved the sale amid pressure from Armenian and
pro-Israel lobbies to block arms sales to Turkey following an earlier
decision to station unmanned Predator aircraft at an American base
in Incirlik, in the country's south, the Star said.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan asked U.S. President
Barack Obama during a Sept. 20 meeting in New York to use Predators
and share intelligence to track the PKK. Turkey, the U.S. and the
European Union list the PKK as a terrorist organization.
