Ministry of Energy of Armenia thinks that providing gas to the
regions of the country where the population is poor and scarce is
not beneficial. The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen
Movsisian gave a statement about the matter on November 16. At the
same time the minister announced that Armenia has one of the most
intensive gas infrastructures in the post Soviet space. According to
the minister, providing gas is a business which should be economically
and ecologically justified. The minister stated that today Russian
gas in Armenia is cheaper than market price but it would not be like
that forever.
