    SARDAR TO SPEAK ON HOMELAND-DIASPORA RELATIONS AT ANC GRASSROOTS

    GLENDALE-The Armenian National Committee-Western Region announced
    that Alex Sardar, Chief of Party with Counterpoint International,
    will participate in the "Homeland and The Diaspora: From Challenges
    to Solutions" panel at the upcoming ANC Grassroots weekend. The event
    will take place from Friday, November 25 to Sunday, November 27,
    2011, at the Sheraton Universal Hotel.

    Sardar currently serves at the Chief of Party for the Civil Society
    and Local Government Support Program (CSLGSP) and is also Counterpart
    International's Vice President of Programs of the Civil Society and
    Government Strengthening Practice Area. He has been living in Armenia
    for nearly a decade, working on USAID projects.

    Before joining Counterpart, Sardar served as the Deputy Chief of
    Party of the USAID Armenia Legislative Strengthening Program,
    working with the National Assembly of Armenia on strengthening
    internal legislative processes, organizational management and
    constituency outreach mechanisms. His main areas of specialization
    include organizational development, political management and advocacy,
    high level policy engagement and legislative process; management of
    deliberative institutions, with emphasis on constituent relations
    and public outreach, as well as external policy interaction.

    Sardar joins the panel on Homeland-Diaspora relations, which includes
    Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Representative to the United States
    Robert Avetisyan; Antranig Kasbarian, a specialist on Nagorno-Karabakh;
    and Elizabeth Chouldjian, a specialist on the Javakh region of the
    Republic of Georgia.

    The three-day ANC Grassroots program is a groundbreaking weekend of
    workshops and panel presentations that will educate the community about
    civic leadership arising from grassroots efforts. ANC Grassroots will
    bookend the Armenian National Committee of America-Western Region
    Annual Banquet, which will take place on Saturday, November 26 at
    7 p.m.

    ANC Grassroots and the Annual Banquet are open to interested
    individuals throughout the entire United States, and participants

    The event includes the Friday night cocktail in the Starview Room;
    as well as conference sessions on Friday, Saturday and Sunday,
    which include breakfast, post-banquet dance, and a keynote luncheon
    on Sunday.

    The Armenian National Committee - Western Region is the largest
    Armenian American grassroots community organization in the Western
    United States. Working in coordination with a network of offices,
    chapters, and supporters throughout the Western United States and

    promote understanding regarding issues of concern to the Armenian
    American community.
