NKR PRESIDENT'S MEETINGS IN NEW YORK

Within the framework of the visit to New York President of the Nagorno
Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakyan met with representatives of American
Armenian organizations.
President Bako Sahakyan met in New York with representatives of the
Eastern USA Central Committee of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation
Party Andranik Gasparyan and a group of the party's members.
Issues related to socioeconomic situation in the republic,
international recognition of Artsakh, Karabakh conflict settlement, and
further development of the Artsakh-Diaspora ties were discussed during
the meeting. Special attention was paid to the resettlement process.
Bako Sahakyan underlined that the Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora trinity is
one of the foundations of the Karabakh statehood and its continuous
strengthening is among the most important tasks of the world-spread
Armenians.
President Bako Sahakyan met with American philanthropist Virginia
Davis and discussed with her issues related to the implementation
of different projects in NKR. The President State rated high the
readiness of the philanthropist to support Artsakh.
Bako Sahakyan visited St. Vardan cathedral in New York whereupon he met
primate of the Armenian Apostolic Church's Eastern Diocese of America
Archbishop Khazhak Barsamyan and members of the diocesan council.
Issues related to the Artsakh-Diaspora relations, internal situation
and foreign policy of Artsakh were discussed during the meeting.
In his speech the President called invaluable the role of the Armenian
Apostolic church in preserving the national identity in the Diaspora
and in the reinforcement of its ties with the Motherland, qualifying
it as one of the most important foundations of the Armenian statehood.
US Eastern Regional body of the "Hayastan" All-Armenian organized in
New York a dinner in honor of NKR President Bako Sahakyan with the
participation of Armenian community representatives.
President Sahakyan introduced to the attendees the socioeconomic
situation in NKR, the problems it faces and the perspectives of
development. The President underlined that the people of Artsakh
is resolute to further strengthen their independent statehood and
within this context called the Artsakh-Armenia-Diaspora trinity the
basis of all achievements. Bako Sahakyan rated high the role of the
"Hayastan" All-Armenian fund in the development of Artsakh qualifying
it one of the most important junctions in practical cementation of
the inter-Armenian ties, Central Information Department of the Office
of the NKR President reported.
