DIASPORA MINISTRY HOLDS TELECONFERENCE WITH AJARIAN ARMENIANS

Armenia's Ministry of Diaspora organized a teleconference with the
Armenian community in Ajara, an autonomous republic of Georgia,
according to the ministry.
The goal of the teleconference was to discuss the problems the Armenian
community is facing there, present the programs by the Ministry of
Diaspora, strengthen and develop partnership between the ministry
and the Armenian community and encourage the Armenian community's
participation in pan-Armenian projects.
Deputy Diaspora Minister Vardan Marshalyan welcomed the participants
of the teleconference and presented the programs implemented by the
ministry. He also urged on the Armenians there to be more actively
involved in programs and events organized by the ministry.
Andranik Arshakyan, Head of the Department of the Armenian community
in CIS countries, proposed that they take their own initiatives when
it comes to solving intra-community solutions, adding that the ministry
is ready to support in as much as possible.
Grigor Vardanyan, President of the Armenian Union of Ajara, in turn,
briefed them on the existing problems the Armenian community is
facing there.
Both sides agreed to create a timetable for the implementation of
the problems raised during the teleconference and to consistently
implement them.
