WHY NO RECEPTION WAS HELD IN MOSCOW

    Story from Lragir.am News:

On November 24, the next Telethon will be held in Los Angeles which
will raise funds for the reconstruction of Karabakh villages and
towns. The President of Karabakh Bako Sahakyan has already left for
the U.S. to take part in the Telethon. Prior to travelling to LA,
Bako Sahakyan visited Moscow and a couple of other European cities.

In this context, the press conference held by lawyers in Armenia
related to the cases of fraud connected with the interests of Diaspora
benefactors is remarkable. Well-known lawyers told about their
clients, engaged in investment and charity in Armenia and Karabakh,
were robbed and the court either rejected the appeals or supported
the fraudsters. The lawyers also proposed to create a fund protecting
the rights of investors from Diaspora.

Telethons in Los Angeles for many years have been conducted in an
atmosphere of accusation: while the leadership goes to America and
appeals to patriotism and compassion, showing footage in which Karabakh
is shown in Gobi Desert, journalists, social activists, politicians,
and now also advocates argue that the collected funds are not used
rationally and even stupidly stolen. Year by year the number of major
benefactors reduces, but, they are such great patriots, that they
try not to advertise their non-participation in the next marathon.

Certainly, one needs to be blind to fail to see what things have been
built in Karabakh on this money. Schools, infrastructures and much
more else which Karabakh residents see every day in their daily life
and thank the benefactors. Our rivals say that the strongest weapon of
Armenia is the Diaspora - they fear our tanks less than our Diaspora.

How do we treat it ourselves? Cultural and massive pioneering
activities organized by the Ministry of Diaspora look miserable
against press conferences revealing that the rights of businessmen
from the Diaspora are not protected even by courts.

For several years, the Armenian authorities, having understood that
the Western Diaspora demands human rights protection and competition,
directed their gaze towards Russia. Charity events were held for two
or three years running in Moscow but after the resignation of the
Chief of Staff of President Karen Karapetyan there has been no word
on such an event in Moscow. Perhaps, the reason is that the events
were organized by Karen Karapetyan's brother Samvel Karapetyan.

This is the Armenian world which the Armenian leadership tried
    to build.
