French Foreign Minister Allen Juppe who is now in Ankara on a visit,
has had a meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Ahmet Davutoglu.
According to the Turkish media, the two officials discussed regional
and international issues, including Turkey's EU efforts and the
Armenian Genocide.
But a central topic of the discussion was the developments in Syria.
At a joint news conference after the meeting, the French top diplomat
said it is now late to launch reforms in the country.
"We do not think the Bashar-al-Assad regime is seeking to implement
any reforms in the country. Besides, it is now too late to implement,"
Juppe said, adding that only a UN Security Council decision could
allow any mediation efforts in the country.
