Eighty Armenian trucks carrying food have been stuck at the Higher
Lars passing point on the Russian-Georgian border for ten days. The
drivers told "A1+" that "they are waiting helplessly and in despair
and don't know how much longer they will wait".
This comes after the not too heavy snowfall.
"It snowed a little in Kazbek and the roads froze. There is no salt
being poured and the roads are not being cleaned. There will be more
snow in the next couple of days," the drivers say.
They say only one company is permitted to pass the border.
"Who should think about that?" the drivers ask.
Press secretary of the Minister of Transport and Communication Susanna
Tonoyan told "A1+" that the ministry had nothing to do with the
drivers. According to her, the cars belong to private companies and
are located on the border of another country.
