The political forces of Armenia and individuals are getting
prepared for the oncoming parliamentary elections in 2012: it may be
clearly understood from their statements in media, member of the RPA
parliamentary faction Artak Zakaryan told at a news conference today,
adding that the coming elections suppose real ideological fight.
"All the statements that have been voiced during this period fit in the
circles of pre-electoral tendencies. All the forces are intensifying
their activities and each one tries to use its own resources for
reaching success," Artak Zakaryan said.
Referring to the statement of Arthur Baghdasaryan that during the past
month about 30 thousand people have become members of the Rule of Law
party, Zakaryan said he cannot confirm the rightness of this number but
it is unanimous that the party has acquired new members. "I do not want
to say whether it is true or not. I do not know it. But the engagement
of new members in the rows of the party must be viewed as normal,"
the parliamentarian said, adding that according to the information of
the parties, fight for being a party member has reached to a degree
when the number of people belonging to this or that party exceeds 6-7
million which is twice more from the number of population of Armenia.
"I can tell that after 20 years of coordinated activity the Republican
Party of Armenia has 130 thousand members, the majority of who are
activists," Zakaryan said.
