YEREVAN. - Regarding Nagorno-Karabakh issue many mistakes should be
corrected, which were caused by the gaining power through revolution
and blood in Armenia, oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC)
member Vladimir Karapetyan said on Friday at a discussion devoted to
the foreign policy issues of Armenia.
According to him, ANC believes that the cornerstones of the foreign
policy are Nagorno-Karabakh issue and the normalization of the
Armenian-Turkish relations.
"Regarding Armenian-Turkish relations, we are blamed that our
principals do not coincide with that of authorities. While it is not
entirely true, we are against the Armenian-Turkish protocols in the
current form. The major issue is the establishment of a sub-committee
of historians. It is the chief obstacle to carry out the protocols,"
Karapetyan said.
Concerning Armenian-Georgian relations, we pay importance to the
necessity to develop the relations with Georgia on a higher level,
as any issue is possible to settle on this condition, he added.
