Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip ErdoÄ?an just apologized on behalf
of the Turkish Republic for the 1937-1939 Dersim killings.
Prime Minister ErdoÄ?an showed documents dated August 1939, which
stated the operations had killed over 13,000 people between 1936 and
1939.
ErdoÄ?an further defined the Dersim killings as "the most tragic
incident of our near past."
