[ 26 Nov 2011 15:21 ]
Baku. Sevil Zeynalgizi - APA. 1-8-magnitude quake hit Gandja city of
Azerbaijan on November 25, Director of the Republican Seismological
Service Center (RSSC) of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences
Gurban Yetirmishli told APA. According to him, the quake was not felt.
Armenian press released information quoting republic's seismological
service that 3-4-magnitude quake occurred yesterday at 21.16 in 9km
north-west of Shamkir region of Azerbaijan.
But Yetirmishli said that the information released by Armenia was
incorrect: `We have already complained to Observatories and Research
Facilities for European Seismology about the information released by
Armenia. We have previously sent appeals to that organization on such
information released by Armenians. We announce once again that the
Armenians released incorrect information. Only our official
information on the quakes in Azerbaijan must be considered right'.
Yetirmishli said as the quake in Gandja was weak, the information on
it was not placed to RSSC's website.
