November 26, 2011 01:39 AM The Daily Star
BEIRUT: The Turkish prime minister of did well to apologize to his
country's Kurdish population earlier this week but the move didn't go
far enough, according to the Syriac League.
In a statement, the league said that while the announcement by Turkish
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan earlier this week was a cry of
conscience, `even if late,' the group said that such national
reconciliations should not be selective. Erdogan apologized Wednesday
for a bombing and strafing campaign that killed around 14,000 Kurds in
the 1930s.
The league wants Erdogan to address similar apologies to Syriacs and Armenians.
