President Serzh Sargsyan received the leader of Caucasian Muslims,
Sheikh-Ul-Islam Allahshuqyur Pashazade and His Holiness Karekin II,
Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians.
The President highly appreciated the role of inter-religious concord
all over the world, attached importance to the formation of an
atmosphere of tolerance in the region and expressed confidence that
spiritual leaders were able to play an essential role here.
President Sargsyan welcomed the efforts of His Holines Karekin II
and Sheikh-Ul-Islam Allahshuqyur Pashazade targeted at the peaceful
settlement of the Karabakh conflict through dialogue.
The leader of Caucasian Muslims expressed confidence that it would
be possible to reach resolution of the issue thanks to the efforts
of the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan. He stressed that war
was not an option.
