PanARMENIAN.Net - A 13,5% growth in tourist inflow was reported
Jan-Sept 2011 in Armenia against the same period in 2010 to total
over 800 thousand visitors, Armenian Economy Minister stated.
As Tigran Davtyan said at a meeting with tourism industry
representatives, "dynamic upsurge in tourism is reported, providing
a stable growth as opposed to other sectors of Armenian economy."
The Minister noted tourism and IT among government-assisted sectors,
also stressing the need to provide effective allocation of funds. "As
compared to other sectors of economy, tourism must provide GDP share,
adequate to the development of the country," the official stressed.
"Armenian government is planning to achieve up to 1 mln tourist inflow
