Azerbaijan
The OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs are expected to visit the region in
coming few days.
I believe these visits must produce a result and though the talks
have been intensified, no serious measures are taken against Armenia.
The statement came from Elman Mammadov, member of the board of
management of the Azerbaijani Community of Nagorno-Karabakh Region
of Azerbaijan Republic Public Association, MP, in his remarks for
the ruling New Azerbaijan Party website.
Any progress in the conflict resolution seems to be impossible until
necessary measures are taken against the aggressor state under the
international law, Mammadov said.
The international law gives a ground to impose sanctions against
Armenia, he added.
'However, the fact that the international community has not yet
adopted any sanctions points to continued double standards.
Unfortunately, there is the same attitude towards both the state
which suffers from aggression and the aggressor state. Sargsyan's
government will try to protract the conflict resolution by all means
until the international community puts forward a definite stance. This,
in turn, prompts Azerbaijan to liberate its lands by military means,'
Mammadov noted.
