Beko sells its products in Khankendi, but this is not Turkey's official
position, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic said in an
interview with media on Monday.
"Beko sells its products in many countries," he said. "Turkey's
position on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is known. We always supported
Azerbaijan."
According to information, Beko opened a branch in the Azerbaijani
occupied territories. According to the Armenian site beko.am, the
Turkish company in Armenia is represented by "ED-SPO". It has a network
of 12 stores in the country. The 13th shop was opened in Khankendi.
The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988
when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Armenian
armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan since 1992,
including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and 7 surrounding districts.
Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The
co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia, France, and the U.S. -
are currently holding the peace negotiations.
Armenia has not yet implemented the U.N. Security Council's four
resolutions on the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh and the
surrounding regions.
