PYATIGORSK HOSTS INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR ON RUSSIAN-TURKISH RELATIONS

Pyatigorsk is hosting an international seminar on Russian-Turkish
relations from Ataturk until the modern-day, stressing the Caucasus,
its history, culture and modern state. The Yerkramas paper said
that leading scientists of Turkey and Russia will hold talks at the
Pyatigorsk State Linguistic University.
Alexander Kolesnikov, an advisor of the Russian Foreign Ministry
and PhD of History, Jezmi Eraslan, Director of the Research Center
of Ataturk (Turkey) and PhD of History, Hasan Kanbolat, Director of
the Center for Strategic Research of the Middle East (Turkey) and PhD
of History, Victor Panin, Director of the Institute of International
Relations of the PGLU and PhD of Politics, are among highlights of
the meeting.
Professor Arushan Vartumyan, deputy head for PR of the Armavir
State University, PhD of History, will present report on identity
collision and cultural assimilation of Russia and Turkey, Professor
Maya Astvatsaturova, a professor of the section for innovations,
management and law of the PGLU, PhD of History, will report on
Armenian-Turkish relations within diasporas, K.Kasparyan will speak
on positive aspects of Russian-Turkish relations. They are among the
Armenian specialists at the meeting.
The Center for Ethno-Political Studies believes that Turkey would
want to sow a discord into Armenian diasporas. The Pyatigorsk State
Linguistic University would be a good start for Turkey. It is not
only notable for being the center for Armenian language and culture,
but also for the Institute of International Relations where the
Turkish language is taught and where many Turkish and Azerbaijani
students study.
