ARMENIAN PRESIDENT'S RESIGNATION ONLY WAY OUT - ARF-D REP

In contrast to the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC),
the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun (ARF-D) does
not place emphasis on regular or snap elections because, in both
cases, there is no sense in snap elections if the authorities plan
re-alignments and use of levers at hand, Vahan Hovhannisyan, an ARFD
Bureau member, told journalists.
Snap elections require dissolution of the current parliament
and election of a new one. "But what are the exact requirements
for dissolving the current parliament and forming a new one? The
ones setting such requirements live in the spirit of the Bayonet
Constitution approved in the 1990s. Under the current Constitution
it is not so easy to dissolve the Parliament. The only way out is
Serzh Sargsyan's resignation. In this case, however, is the Armenian
National Congress so influential? Hardly so," Hovhannisyan said.
