Opposition alliance Armenian National Congress (HAK) has started to
set up tents on Liberty Square as part of its one-week all-day-round
rallies it announced during its rally late on Friday.
The HAK activists started to help setting up the tents after a call
for help by HAK coordinator Levon Zurabyan.
Nikol Pashinyan, the Chief Editor of the Armenian daily Haykakan
Zhamanak, said that their actions are fully in line with Armenia~Rs
legislation.
Pashinyan, who was released from prison this summer for organizing
unrest during the 2008 post-election events, also said that the
opposition is going to strictly follow all the norms of discipline
during the one-week rallies.
Following the 2008 presidential elections the HAK activists set up
tents in the same area and spent more than a week before being cracked
down by riot police. At least ten people were killed then and dozen
were wounded.
