PARUYR HAYRIKYAN WON'T BE CHOOSING 'THE LESSER OF TWO EVILS'

In Armenia's political arena today there are two main polarities -
"the so-called coalition and so-called HAK [the Armenian National
Congress]," said Union for Self-Determination (AIM) party leader
Paruyr Hayrikyan, speaking to journalists in Yerevan today about the
possible rearrangements in the political scene.
"There might be changes, first and foremost, in the opposition camp,"
he said, noting that he doesn't consider the creation of new polarities
as an end in itself.
"I want us to gather around a worthy system," said the party leader.
Turning his attention to HAK, he declared that it's quite difficult
to join the opposition bloc "especially for those who have a memory."
"People with a healthy capacity for rational or intellectual thought
find it difficult to decide where to go. I consider it wrong to
choose the lesser of two evils," he said, emphasizing that he's even
prepared not to run in the upcoming parliamentary elections, but he's
not preparing to fight for 7% of the votes.
