Resolution of the Karabakh conflict can encourage the settlement of
other ethnic conflicts, said Huseyn Arac, Danish Parliament MP, as
he commented on the recent statement by the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs.
According to the Azerbaijan news website News.az, Huseynov also said
that the world powers must be interested in the resolution of ethnic
conflicts in the Caucasus.
'Russia must be more active in Karabakh issue since an ethnic conflict
can pose a danger for Russia itself," said Arac.
"The recent past showed how Russia suffered from ethnic conflicts.
Therefore, resolution of the Karabakh conflict can encourage resolution
of other ethnic conflicts, too," the Danish MP said.
Further, Arac said the world powers need to take action towards
resolution of the conflict as a prolonged conflict raises chances of
a new war in the region.
"No one benefits from the war. But how long should Azerbaijan tolerate
this? Everyone should ponder over this question. Otherwise, the entire
region may face a possibility of a new war and it may be difficult
to prevent suffering," Arac added.
