HOMELESS FAMILY IN GYUMRI TO RECEIVE ASSISTANCE FROM CANADA

GYUMRI. - A short time after release of the video showing the dire
social condition of the family of Elmira Tamazyan, a mother of 3 orphan
children in Armenia's Gyumri city (Armenian News-NEWS.am covered
this story in its news entitled "Homeless and neglected orphans:
family from Gyumri not to receive home"), the Shirak Center, which
had released the video, received a response from Reverend Father
Myron Sarkissian, an Armenian clergy from Canada.
Shirak Center hereby presents, with certain abridgment, this Armenian
clergy's letter, addressed to Bishop Mikayel Ajapahyan, Primate of
the Shirak Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, with respect to
providing long-term assistance to this family:
"We learned from Shirak Center's website about Elmira Tamazyan and
her 3 orphan children, and therefore we ask you to please appoint a
suitable clergy member, so we can include them in the Canadian-Armenian
Diocese's list of Armenia's orphan children and provide them
corresponding assistance through Headquarters of the Shirak Diocese."
