HURRIYET: SARKOZY AIMED AT MENDING RELATIONS WITH ARMENIANS OF DIASPORA

French President Nicolas Sarkozy, who has spoiled relations with
Armenian Diaspora, when banned the draft of law on criminalizing
the denying of Armenian Genocide, is putting forth efforts to mend
the relations without strengthening ties with Turkey, writes Turkish
"Huriyet" daily.
The Turkish daily refers to renowned French Armenian chansonnier
Charles Aznavour's concert performed in Paris and being attended by
the Presidents of Armenia ad France. The concert was dedicated to
the 20th anniversary of Armenia's Independence.
"Hurriyet" highlights that there are about 500.000 Armenians having
the right to vote, and that socialist candidate Francois Hollande
has promised to support the Armenian Genocide bill.
The Turkish paper underlines that on October 6-7 French President
Nicolas Sarkozy will arrive in Armenia.
