Iran, Armenia to build anti-hail devices factory in West Azarbayjan Province
West Azarbayjan Province and Armenia's Armavir region have signed an
agreement on the construction of a joint factory to manufacture
anti-hail devices.
At the end of the meeting between the governors-general of West
Azarbayjan Province and Armenia's Armavir region, Jalalzadeh and Ashot
Qahramanyan, in Orumiyeh today, the sides signed an agreement on the
construction of an Iranian-Armenian factory to manufacture anti-hail
devices in West Azarbayjan Province.
During his visit to Armenia this year [Iranian year starting on 21
March], the governor-general of West Azarbayjan Province visited a
factory manufacturing anti-hail devices in Armenia and issued an order
to purchase several devices and test them in some regions of the
province.
According to the head of the West Azarbayjan Agricultural Jihad
Organization, Asqari, eight anti-hail devices have been purchased from
Armenia and installed in the cities of Orumiyeh, Mahabad, Salmas and
Miyandoab so far.
Hail in West Azarbayjan Province causes damage worth 70m dollars to
the agricultural sector of the province [annually], and the use of
these devices will play an effective role in reducing the volume of
damage.
